SERIES DESCRIPTION

In the spring, everywhere we look we see green starting to push through the soil and trees heavy with buds getting ready to bloom. Everything just feels so alive! It’s the perfect picture to help teach preschoolers that Jesus is alive!
We are sharing with preschoolers the life-changing truth that Jesus is alive and He wants to be their friend forever. We are planting seeds that we pray will grow and bloom into a faith that is as alive as Jesus. A love that will love like Jesus. A compassion that will care like Jesus. A life that will give like Jesus.
April Curriculum:
Week One (April 5)
Bible Story Focus: We celebrate Jesus because He is special.
Palm Sunday • Matthew 21:1-11, 15-16
Memory Verse: “I am alive for ever and ever!” Revelation 1:18, NIV
Key Question: Who is alive?
Bottom Line: Jesus is alive.
Basic Truth: Jesus wants to be my friend forever.
Story Focus: We celebrate Jesus because He is special. We are going to celebrate Palm Sunday in a big way with our preschoolers and talk about how Jesus is special. So get those palm branches ready! Hosanna! Hosanna! Yay, Jesus!
Week Two (April 12)
Bible Story Focus: Jesus is alive!
Easter • Matthew 26:20-50; 27:1-2; 28:1-7
Memory Verse: “I am alive for ever and ever!” Revelation 1:18, NIV
Key Question: Who is alive?
Bottom Line: Jesus is alive.
Basic Truth: Jesus wants to be my friend forever.
Story Focus: Jesus is alive! Next is the most important thing we will ever share with preschoolers. It is the reason we follow Jesus and can truly be friends with Him forever. Jesus said He would go away but He would come back. Then He died. Jesus’ friends were so very sad. But on the third day, Jesus did come back, just like He said He would! This day is all about the truth that Jesus is alive!
Week Three (April 19)

Breakfast on the Beach • John 21:1-14

Key Question: Who is alive?
Bottom Line: Jesus is alive.
Basic Truth: Jesus wants to be my friend forever.
Story Focus: Jesus is alive, and He wants to be our friend forever. Then comes a crucial part of the Easter story for our preschoolers. Jesus’ friends are out in a boat and they look to the shore. Guess who they see? Jesus! He’s sitting on the beach cooking breakfast. They quickly join Him to eat, talk, and just be with their good friend, Jesus. This story of Jesus being with His friends on the beach helps solidify the idea that Jesus really did come back in preschool minds.
Week Four (April 26)
Bible Story Focus: Jesus wants me to tell others He is alive.
Great Commission • Matthew 28:19-20
